Makey Makey is so impressive. It is a device you can hook up to anything you want to be used to activate a key on the keypad, for instance arrows or a space bar. It would make great projects and presentations for school. The idea is different and can start a new era of computer devices. I would definitely buy one for and use it for school and entertainment purposes.
Typing test http://www.powertyping.com/typing_test/typing_test.shtml
I have done a test like this before at my old school and middle school. My first time through I had about 44 words per minute and the second time I had 55 with 4 mistakes. I think the second time I was also more familiar with the paragraph I was typing so I was much faster. I like to accept the challenge and always try to get me wpm every time I do the test.
Swearing http://www.cusscontrol.com/swearing.html
I don’t agree with swearing, but I do sometimes swear myself. I think the most important concept in swearing is that it is not meant to be used towards someone. I will only use it in a situation that makes me mad, but never in a degrading manner. Most of my cuss words are under my breath. I think people that cuss frequently just do it to be cool and think it puts them above other people by making them uncomfortable. I think swearing should be rarely used and if it is in an appropriate manner, not towards anyone.
Distracted driving test http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2009/07/19/technology/20090719-driving-game.html?_r=1&
This test was actually very challenging and I only made 37% of my lane changes. I do think that this stimulation is harder than actual circumstances of texting and driving on the road. You do not have to change lanes like that in real life. It is a good way to show new drivers how dangerous texting and driving can be. This test should be taken by all teenage drivers or future drivers to possibly change there thinking before they text behind the wheel.
Caffeine drinks http://www.nytimes.com/2012/11/15/business/5-hour-energy-is-cited-in-13-death-reports.html
People are claiming 7 deaths in the last four year to be caused by energy drinks with too much caffeine. I think it is not the producer’s fault the consumer cannot control what and how much they consume. You can blame McDonald’s for making you fat. People need to think about how much they are consuming and if it is actually healthy for them. Making healthier choices will make every day better.
Diet pop http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/03/29/diet-drinks-bad-for-health_n_5051388.html
Is diet pop worse than regular pop cans? Some studies show that for women over 60 years old, it will contribute to more heart attacks, strokes, and cardiovascular diseases. Nothing is for sure proven yet, but with being diet they have more artificial sweeteners, which can’t be any better for you. The study, which is the largest study to look at the relationship between diet drinks and heart health, took into account various factors like participants' BMI, physical activity levels, and other lifestyle choices. You may think diet pop is “healthier” because it is diet, but it is not what you think.
Citizenship test http://www.uscis.gov/citizenship/quiz/learners/study-test/study-materials-civics-test/naturalization-self-test-1/take
I took this citizenship test and got a 76%. Some questions I thought were easy and others I had to think about the answer. Others I just made stupid mistakes that I knew I knew the answer after finding out the answer. I can definitely see how immigrants trying to becoming US citizens will think this is difficult. It has some geography questions and jobs of the President and other positions. These are things we are taught in elementary school.

The typing test was kind of a pain. I made many errors the first time around, I always forgot the space after the period, and I came up with a grand total of 41 wpm. The second time I took my test, I made half as many errors. Most of my errors were, again, forgetting the space after punctuation. My speed did improve and came in at 44wpm. I only used one method pf typing, but I plan to try again with a different style, and see if I can get a higher WPM.
Do I think swearing is bad? I think it depends on where you are and when you are swearing. A lot of people swear when they’re mad or frustrated, which is understandable. If people can get aggression out with words, they won’t have to worry about channeling their aggression through violence. Many people swear and I think I hear more swear words than regular words come out of certain people’s mouths. If people are just swearing to swear, I don’t think it is appropriate or needed. I don’t personally swear because I do not want to get in the habit of it. I don’t judge people who swear and I don’t think it is wrong. There is a time and a place for everything and swearing has one. Swearing should not take place in front of small children or a family atmosphere. If it is an appropriate time or place, as I’ve said, I don’t think swearing is bad.
The texting and driving simulator was very challenging. I had trouble looking down at my keyboard just to get into different lanes before the texts even showed up. I didn’t crash and I finished my texts, but it was a very difficult thing to do. At the end of the simulation, the results asked if I had seen a gray woman. The only thing I saw while texting in driving was my phone and the numbers to switch lanes. I wasn’t aware of my surroundings in any way, shape, or form. I think this simulation represents how hard it can be to text and drive. I still think that people should not do it.
Caffeinated drinks are what help a lot of people get through their day. In this article, they had mentioned people had died with five hour energy in their body. I don’t think there are any problems with drinking an energy drink now and then, but I don’t see any need to drink more than one a day. Drinks like this have labels on them that say used as directed. If you are drinking five or six energy drinks, you are definitely going to have a problem with your heart. Companies are not to blame for fatalities of people who use their product. Energy drinks have labels on them warning drinkers, and if someone does not use the drink accordingly, it is not the companies fault. Why not just grab some coffee?
Diet pop is very popular among older people. I have heard about some effects it has on it drinkers, but I did not know it was linked to cardiovascular problems. This article stated that older women drinking two or more diet pops a day are 50 percent more likely to die from some sort of cardiovascular disease, when compared with women who never or rarely drank diet drinks. That is a crazy statistic. Some articles like this make you sit back and think, ‘what am I putting inside my body? Are the diseases worth satisfying my craving?’ Chances are that you will not die without drinking diet pop. I am personally not a pop fan, but when I do drink it, I try to stay away from diet.
I did not do the greatest job on the American citizenship test. I got a 72%. Some question I thought I knew the answer to, but I second guessed myself and ended up getting them wrong. I learned some of this in the past year and it’s kind of sad that I don’t remember. I think people should have to pass a citizenship test, but I bet most Americans couldn’t pass that test.

9. Swearing is Bad
The page was about how swearing is bad and gave reasons and examples to try and prove it to the reader. I agree that swearing is wrong because it can show hostility, violence, and change a conversation into an argument.

10. Texting while Driving Simulator
This webpage had a texting while driving simulator on it that tested you texting while driving skills. I tried the simulation of texting and driving and did not do so well. I crashed a lot and it was hard to concentrate on both things at once. I never did see the gray old lady, which means I wasn’t paying enough attention to driving.

11. Caffeine Drinks
This article was about energy drinks like 5-hour energy and monster. These products have been linked to deaths but can’t be proven as the cause of death. Some people believe that they can be very harmful and others believe that they are very productive. I don’t drink energy drinks mainly because I don’t need the extra energy. If it has led to people dying I think I can live with being a little tired during my day.

12. Diet Soda
This article was about diet pop and how it can lead to heart disease and other problems for older women. I think that older women with these problems shouldn’t drink any pop at all. But I think that if you are to drink pop, I assume that it’s better to drink the diet over the regular.

Typing Test
http://www.powertyping.com/typing_test/typing_test.shtml
This is a small little test that shows you how well you really are at typing. It will give you a random paragraph to type, and you have to type it exactly how it is, word for word. Get all punctuations and spell it all correctly. If you make a mistake, it will stop you where you are until you do that part correctly. By the end of the test, it will tell you how fast you typed and how many errors you have. It will measure your typing speed in wpm (words per minute).
Is Swearing Bad?
http://www.cusscontrol.com/swearing.html
This article gives an argument about swearing. There are obviously two sides to this fight. People who are against it say it is just slander and makes a conversation sloppy. They also claim that when people swear, it makes them angrier. But in my personal opinion, I think that swearing isn’t too bad. Unless directing it at somebody to try and hurt their feelings or anything like that, it’s just a larger form of expression. It kind of “projects” the emotions more. But like I said….two sides to this argument.
Driving and Texting Simulator
http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2009/07/19/technology/20090719-driving-game.html?_r=0
This simulator doesn’t seem very accurate. I mean, when driving, you aren’t crossing over six lanes of traffic in the time frame of 10 seconds. But then again, when driving, you need your full attention on the road. That means no side distractions such as you trying to reply to a text message. If it is that important, pull over off the side of the road or into a parking lot, and then answer it. Don’t be selfish and endanger other families and other people out on the road.
Caffeinated Drink Cited in Reports of 13 Deaths
http://www.nytimes.com/2012/11/15/business/5-hour-energy-is-cited-in-13-death-reports.html?adxnnl=1&adxnnlx=1399550760-+JRZFvbHRxIFMeZlduHvGw
According to this article, 13 people have died in the last four years over caffeine. Don’t get me wrong, those deaths are tragic, but the numbers don’t seem to be something to make a big deal out of. Even 13 a year is not that bad. There are a lot of other things we should be worrying about than this. Caffeine keeps America going. People use it as a source of energy after working so much. All I can say is that if you are afraid you will die from caffeine, don’t consume it.
Bad Effects of Diet Pop
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/03/29/diet-drinks-bad-for-health_n_5051388.html
According to the article, women who drink two or more diet drinks a day are more likely to have diabetes, high blood pressure, and a higher BMI than those who consume diet drinks in moderation or not at all. It’s showing that the effects of diet pop may not actually be helping you at all.
U.S. Citizenship Test
http://www.uscis.gov/citizenship/quiz/learners/study-test/study-materials-civics-test/naturalization-self-test-1?vgnextoid=&vgnextchannel=
Us as Americans think we know everything about our country. Such as its history, the founding fathers, our bill of rights. This article kind of shows that our very patriotic county doesn’t seem to know very much about itself. Even the small, basic stuff. At the end of the test it tallies’ all of your correct and missed answers. Then you can see how much you truly know about America.

Typing test
I think that this was a very nice site, and it was very interesting. One thing I didn’t like about this test was that whenever you made a mistake you had to retype the letter so that took up some time because you had to glance back up every once in a while to see what letters that you missed. Another thing that kind of annoyed me was that every couple words I had to look back up to check what the next few words were. But apart from those things, I really like the site it was definitely really cool and interesting.

Swearing is bad
I strongly agree that swearing is bad because when people swear it puts them in a bad. I also think it’s bad because it gives a bad impression, it can hurt people’s feelings, it makes other people uncomfortable, it can lead to violence, and many more negative effects. I think that swearing only makes things worse and can’t have any positive effects. I think this is a very nice and educational site and it teaches people why it’s bad to swear.

Distracted driving
I think that this is an awesome site, and it is very interesting. I think that this is a very good site because it teaches people how dangerous it is to text and drive. When your texting and driving you can’t see your entire surrounding and it slows down your reaction time by a large percentage. One thing I didn’t like about this simulation was that you couldn’t type on the keyboard instead you had to use your mouse to click on the phone and I think that clicking on the phone made it even more difficult than it actually is, and if I was texting and driving I’m not sure I would be driving that fast. Another thing I think was kind of strange was that there were 6 lanes; I think there should be 3-4 lanes to make the simulation more realistic. But apart from a few flaws I think that this was a very interesting site and simulation.

Caffeine drinks
I think that this is a very interesting website and it teaches a lot about why energy drinks are bad. I think that too many energy drinks are dangerous and can kill or seriously harm people who consume energy drinks. I think that if you’re extremely tired you should go to sleep, not take an energy drink and try to stay awake. I think that caffeine drinks can be dangerous at times. On the site it says 13 people have died from energy drinks in the last 4 years, and even more have been seriously injured. I think that this is an extremely interesting site and teaches people why energy drinks are bad for them.

Diet soda
I think that this is a very interesting site that tells about why diet coke is bad for you. On this site it states that the Women’s Health Initiative observational Study looked at nearly 60,000 women with an average age of 62.8 years and found a relationship between diet drink consumption and a number of cardiovascular problems. It also states that women who consumed two or more diet drinks daily were not only 30 percent more likely to suffer heart attacks and strokes, they were 50 percent more likely to die from some sort of cardiovascular disease, when compared with women who never or rarely drank diet drinks. There are many other things on this site showing how diet soda is bad for you. I think that this is a very interesting site and is very informing.

I think that this is a very interesting site and towards the end you learn a lot about history. I got a 20/25 on my first try, a couple I just made some silly mistakes but others I never knew before. I think that the questions were mostly pretty easy but a few were pretty difficult. I think that this is a very interesting yet educational site.

Citizen Test
http://www.uscis.gov/citizenship/quiz/learners/study-test/study-materials-civics-test/naturalization-self-test-1/take
I got a 100% good to know I’m a good American. The test is full of easy questions. The sad part is if this test was given to say 7th or 8th graders in the US they would most likely do poor on it. But if you gave it to the same age group of immigrants or exchange students they would most likely pass with high scores.
Diet Coke causing Problems
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/03/29/diet-drinks-bad-for-health_n_5051388.html
The article talks about the newest discovery that diet drinks are giving older women heart problems. I recently just heard this from someone and I am not surprised at all. Being a person who drinks water and sometimes lemonade or tea, this does not concern me. I have had maybe half a can of any carbonated drink my entire life. I never really liked the taste and now I’m glad. As for the heart problems these are most likely women who drink at least a can a day if not more. My tip for those who think their relative may soon be in danger, is find out how much they drink diet products. The easiest way to do this is simple, next time you see them ask them for some water. If they go get a water bottle, they are in danger. Through my own analysis I have found that heavy diet or a regular coke drinker think tap water taste bad because of the fluoride and is unsafe.
5-Hours then Death
http://www.nytimes.com/2012/11/15/business/5-hour-energy-is-cited-in-13-death-reports.html
This story talks about the tragedy of 13 people who drank 5-hour energy and died in the past 4 years. Stories like this float around the internet all the time and never get that much attention except those that it applies little to. 5-hour has had many issues with the F.D.A in the past. It surprises me more haven’t died from drinking this stuff. I have seen people down several at a time. Straight caffeine is not good for the body, and too much can kill you. At some point you have to ask was it the drink or the person and their use of it.
Text and Wreck
http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2009/07/19/technology/20090719-driving-game.html?_r=1&
This is an interactive game where it tries to simulate texting and driving. My opinion yes is was a fun test, but there were some flaws. For on the driver was a crazy, crossing several lanes to get to a gate, in an unrealistic scenario. The texting was also flawed, I found myself looking for what was bolded and the shortest, not reading the entire thing and responding in a realistic way. It also wanted exact spelling and no abbreviation like normal people, for example it asked for a time like five or six and I said 5 that was not acceptable.
Daring Swearing
http://www.cusscontrol.com/swearing.html
Is it a list or a poem, I don’t really know. Reading through the list/poem I found it to make very good points. As for me I do not feel swearing is bad. To further explain I think if you swear and it is not directed towards a person or harming anyone then it is not bad. To me calling someone fat is just as bad a swearing at them and it should be on the same level. Now if I swearing because I jammed my toe then I am not a fault.
Typing Test
http://www.powertyping.com/typing_test/typing_test.shtml
This typing test is very good compared to others I have seen but they all have their flaws. This test unlike others I have taken actually makes words into a sentence. Others I have tried are just a mess of different words. Now the problem with this test and all of them is the reading of the word. I easily forget what word I am typing and have to pause to think. Unlike in my head where I have it all out and I think while I type. So yes my wpm is really slow but I type way faster when I’m not reading and it’s my own words. I ended up with 30 wpm.
Typing Test part 2

Typing test:
The first time I took this test I had 48 wpm and the second time I had 53 wpm. The last time I had any kind of typing classes was in elementary school. I have always used the home row keys when I type but my right hand leaves the keyboard often just because I am still not super great at that side of the board. http://www.powertyping.com/typing_test/typing_test.shtml
Swearing is bad: Agree or disagree?
I personally don’t think swearing is a bad thing but I do think there is a time and place for it. Swearing out in public can be risky because people never know who is around, especially children. Private conversations are different and its normally acceptable but again it depends who you are around. Swearing around an employer or in school is not okay. http://www.cusscontrol.com/swearing.html
Texting and driving
My reaction times for the simulation were 0.23 seconds slower while not testing and 9% more gates missed while not texting. The average is 0.24 seconds and 8%. The concept behind this is very important. Texting and driving is a big deal in our world today and this really helps to show what you can miss by taking your eyes off the road. http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2009/07/19/technology/20090719-driving-game.html?_r=0
Caffeine drinks
This article is very interesting to me because I know a lot of people that drink 5-Hour Energy, Monster and other energy drinks, including myself. For years I have been taught nothing about energy drinks except that they are absolutely horrible for you. But, just like anything, too much of something is not good. Obviously, if someone drinks a 5-Hour Energy every 5 hours for a week it’s not going to be very healthy. Things like energy drinks have to be used correctly and people need to be aware of potential risks. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/11/15/business/5-hour-energy-is-cited-in-13-death-reports.html
Diet Soda
This article is also interesting because I know many people that drink diet soda very often, one of them being my mother. The results researchers have already found are actually scary especially because heart problems already run in my family and studies show women who consumed two or more diet drinks daily were 30 percent more likely to suffer heart attacks and strokes. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/03/29/diet-drinks-bad-for-health_n_5051388.html
US citizenship test
I got 18 of 25 possible points which is a 72%. I actually think I did pretty well on this for my knowledge. It was all information I had seen before but stuff I forgot after learning. The questions were fairly easy and I think even a student in 4th or 5th grade could do very well on something like this. http://www.uscis.gov/citizenship/quiz/learners/study-test/study-materials-civics-test/naturalization-self-test-1?vgnextoid=&vgnextchannel=
The diet pop article was the most interesting to me because it has an effect on me. Many people I love drink diet soda all the time and I don’t think they realize the negative effects.

I disagree that swearing is bad. Now, there are times where swearing isn’t appropriate and can become annoying real fast when every other word coming out of someone’s mouth is a big “F bomb.”

8) Typing Test
My score actually was worse than on Friday’s. I had five mistakes then and I made 8 mistakes today. My speed was about the same though, nothing to write home about. I feel as though if I had practiced a bit more consistently throughout the week and came back to it having practiced, my score might have been better. Taking the test twice is one thing, but practicing it over and over until I improve is another. I’m not taking this test incredibly seriously; I think my ‘chicken pecking’ suffices enough. Though this is a good tool to use if ever I wish to improve my typing skills.
Swearing, to me, just is what it is. It’s more ok for some people than it is for others. Sometimes it’s used to exclaim something involuntarily, like when you suddenly stub your toe or burn yourself when cooking; it can be used as a mechanism letting others know that you’re hurting somewhere. Or it could be used as a tension diffuser in social situations, where cussing welcomes other parties by saying ‘It’s cool, guys. We can swear around each other. We’re open to each other, like that.’ On the obverse side of things, it is indeed simple language that doesn’t aid anything but colloquial diction. In addition, swearing evolves with us, and the ones that we think are the worst might change in the future to accommodate the “It has lost its effectiveness” issue. So there’s little chance of it going away any time soon.
To educate yourself more on the issue, you should check out this YouTube video and Article that really gets into why we swear:
Original video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dd7dQh8u4Hc&safe=active
As far as my personal opinion goes: Frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn.
http://www.cusscontrol.com/swearing.html
10) Texting and Driving
I made so many mistakes… At times I just gave up looking at my phone all together to focus on driving, and had to reverse that way of thinking to txt. I was about average in terms of speed and missing more gates while texting ( I had 0.31 seconds slower while texting, 9% more gates missed while texting, and the average is 0.24 and 8%). And whole I don’t believe this to be an accurate representation of texting and driving, it’s a great reminder about how greatly texting and driving affects us.
I guess it’s no surprise that copious amounts of caffeine can lead to things like cardiac arrest among a multitude of other symptoms. With such a concentrated amount running through your body all at once, your body just can’t handle it all. At least with a drink like coffee, the caffeine is more natural and can be delivered in increments; and it’s been consumed both physically and commercially longer than 5-Hour Energy. As far as products like 5-Hour Energy being called a “dietary supplements”, I feel that’s a bit of a stretch. They clearly market their product in a light where it will give the user more energy, like an energy drink would, but skirts around the regulations for energy drinks just so they can sell it the way I want. Yeah, I’m not sure I’d trust to buy my caffeine from those who do that. Then again, I don’t regularly buy energy drinks or “supplements” in the first place so… Well, I’ll just stick to my Mt. Dew Voltage, danke.
Too much of anything is never a good thing. Especially if it’s under the soft-drink umbrella. I don’t doubt that “low-calorie drinks [are] the cause of metabolic syndrome and heart disease”, or that “colas, both diet and regular, are associated with lower bone density…” Though, I do believe that this is more or less a lifestyle affair. A family member of mine has all three symptoms listed in the article, but it was not a cause of soda-and/or-diet soda abuse; she just lived a different life that was NOT at fault to these drinks. She did drink both occasionally, but never more than that. In this article, I could replace pop with something like potato chips and this wouldn’t surprise me. In the end, it’s all in how you look at it. Yes, we know plaque is bad and it’s a problem; that’s why we brush our teeth. Yes, we know pop is bad; that’s why we drink water.

13) Naturalization Test
Well, 21 out of 25 isn’t that bad! I passed with an %84, though I think that many were fairly easy. Questions like “What is our National Anthem” and the like were just more-or-less common sense things. I suppose it’s easy for me to say that, since I’ve lived in America all my life. However some of the questions just genuinely made me feel surprised… Again, for me, some of them border on the downright obvious.
Typing test: I took the typing test and got 36wpm, and 75 words typed.
Swearing is bad: I believe that swearing can be bad at some times. If you are verbally saying it toward someone then it’s not right and I would consider it bad. If you are just saying it to yourself out of frustration or pain then I would consider it ok. I do not believe that young kids should be swearing at all. I believe it is wrong and disrespectful. I hear kids in elementary school swearing now a days and it blows my mind! There is no reason kids of that age should be swearing. Some words some people may consider swearing words but some people may not think they are. The only swear word kids could be able to use is “H E double hockey sticks” and that’s only if there talking about religion. I also believe that there is a time and a place where swearing could be appropriate or not, you should not be swearing in public places where family’s or kids could hear you, church and school are also not acceptable.
Simulation: I got 0 seconds slower while not texting, and 6% gates missed while not texting. The average is 0.24 while texting and 8% gates missed while texting. I did not see the gray lady.. I don’t think this is a good simulator for texting. I think it’s harder to do this then it would be to text and drive. I don’t believe in texting and driving. I am not going to put myself in danger or anyone else’s while I drive. If I need to get a hold of someone that bad ill call them or pull over to text them.
This story: Everyone already knows that too much caffeine is bad for you. I don’t think they should band any size drinks or get rid of any in that matter. It is up to the person who wants to drink that stuff. I don’t think caffeine was the only cause of deaths with these incidences. Unless they had too much caffeine all at once, which was like I said their fault then.
May have some negative consequences. This page was blocked! But my opion on pop is that yes it can have a negative affect on you if you drink it all the time and drink nothing else. It has lots of caffeine and sugar in it. Once again though it is up to the person drinking it, if they want to drink pop all the time and have medical problems in the future then let them..
US citizenship test: I did terrible, I hate history and stuff like that. I got 14 out of 25 which is a 56%..........
I liked the driving simulation, even though I did not think it was anything like texting and driving…
Typing test: 42wpms was my score this time, which was better than I scored last time.
Article: I couldn’t find my results for the quiz but that is a pretty cool idea. Kids would love if we could play video games like that in school, and if its teaching them it’s just a plus.

Makey Makey
This is one of my favorite things that ive ever seen. I never thought technology was so easy to harness! You just plug in and everything becomes a keyboard or a Mouse! I am already planning to buy one! I think this is a great idea, and it could save a lot of money to people if applied correctly!

Typing Test
We have done this in middle school. I forgot what it was called but it tested us an accuracy of typing and it taught us short cuts to typing. Although it was tedious and got boring quick, I am glad I did it. As a PC Gamer and leader of an online community, typing fast and precise sure comes in handy! I feel like the younger generations will surpass us in typing speed however.

Swearing
I agree swearing is bad. It’s unprofessional and can set a bad example. You never know when a little child might be listening and the last thing you want is that child repeating what you’re saying! Plus if you’re trying to court a lady friend swearing is certainly not acceptable. The only place where it might be acceptable is if you’re with your friends in private.

Driving Test
This test was easy for me. I got all the checkpoint thingies and I could type the message. The trick is to cut 2 or 3 seconds from your vision right after you pass through the gate, while you have time to just go straight. Do I think this is an accurate depiction of real life? Not at all. Driving doesn’t require that kind of brain work but it’s a fun game!

Caffeine Drinks
Personally, I don’t drink coffee. I never liked it and Id rather not get addicted like everyone else I see. If I want to wake up, il eat come candy or just suck it up. Apparantly 7 people died of too much caffeine. I don’t think that’s the products fault I think that’s the consumers mistake. Anything is bad if you take too much of it. You can cause serious intestinal problems with Ibuprofen, shall we ban that? Ofcourse not.

Diet Pop
I think this is a joke. Don’t people know that the stuff they put in Diet drinks, actually get you more addicted to the product? People switch to diet thinking they will lose weight. No no no if you wanna lose weight, you gotta start drinking water or work out. Waters not even that bad. My opinion is that diet drinks are worse for you than the original and should be removed.

USA TEST
I liked taking the naturalization self test. It showed how much you really knew about your country. I think everyone should know this as you do live in America and you should know basic American knowledge. It might be disrespectful not to know the most obvious facts of American History. 88%

#8 Typing test. http://www.powertyping.com/typing_test/typing_test.shtml
I took this typing test last week and got a 33 the very first time. This week I took it again and got a 41. I guess it just depends on how much you know the story or how much you get the hang of typing. I tried a couple different times when I took it the first time and my score did go up eventually but only to about 39ish. It could also be the fact that I was trying too hard or stressing myself to go faster that made me make more mistakes.
#9 Swearing is bad. Agree or Disagree http://www.cusscontrol.com/swearing.html
I think swearing is bad and it has corrupted the language skills of humans everywhere. I say humans because it’s not just adults or teenagers. We all corrupt children with this language as well. I used to speak “Like a sailor” too but since then I’ve tried to keep my bad language from entering my mind and exiting my mouth. I think all the reasons that they mentioned were very true and it’s good to look at them all in a list. Why would you even swear when there are so many other words you can use to express yourself?
#10 Texting and Driving Simulation http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2009/07/19/technology/20090719-driving-game.html?_r=1&
I tried the simulation and, even though I was better than average, I still think you shouldn’t text and drive. It’s definitely not a good habit, you could kill someone else, you could kill yourself, and is it all worth your life? The simulation was harder than actually driving but I think it should be a hard test to complete. This issue should not be taken lightly.
#11 Caffeine Drinks http://www.nytimes.com/2012/11/15/business/5-hour-energy-is-cited-in-13-death-reports.html
Caffeine drinks have been a part of everyday life for a long time. We eat and drink more sugar in one week than people 200 years ago would’ve in a year. I used to drink multiple in a day before I realized it was hurting my health. This article just cements the fact that it not only hurts your health, but could potentially kill you. Even though there are “Diet” versions of energy drinks, they have the same ramifications health-wise. The sugar replacement, or sweetener, isn’t great for you no matter if it’s less calories or not.
#12 Diet Pop http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/03/29/diet-drinks-bad-for-health_n_5051388.html
After reading this article, I feel more informed about sodas in general. I already knew they weren’t good for you, I just didn’t know how much they weren’t. I’ve been trying to change my soda habits for a while and, slowly but surely, soda and energy drinks don’t play such a huge part in my life anymore. About the diabetes and cardiovascular diseases, these are what made me change my mind in the first place. Breast cancer runs in my family, but diabetes runs in my body type. I need to be weary of both and of every concern and stay healthy. If that means cutting out “diet” soda as well as regular, so be it.
#13 US Citizenship Test http://www.uscis.gov/citizenship/quiz/learners/study-test/study-materials-civics-test/naturalization-self-test-1?vgnextoid=&vgnextchannel=
I took the Naturalization Quiz and got a 68% so technically, I get to be a U.S. Citizen. I should’ve known most of them but I had a tough time with the ones about history. History is not my strong suit. I think it was a pretty accurate quiz though and helped me to understand what types of things people have to know to become a U.S. Citizen.

8. My score for this was 54 wpm. I can definitely do better but this activity was cool for people to learn a little bit about typing and what wpm means and they can see how fast that can type and how many words they can type in a minute trying to make the least mistakes they can.
9. I think swearing is bad also, but some of the things they listed don’t exactly make sense because almost everyone in the whole world curses or will end up cursing. I don’t really understand how swearing lacks imagination, the only thing I can think of is how it lacks is that they’re too lazy to think of a smart, intelligent word so instead they curse to solve their quick problem and make themselves think that they won the argument.
10. That activity was very frustrating. I was getting quite angry when I couldn’t text, and drive at the same time. Even if this game wasn’t on the web, people shouldn’t text and drive.
11. Personally I don’t believe in energy drinks at all. Obviously someone needs to slow down all their errands or whatever they do, and rest a little bit. Someone should not have to depend on a little drink to help them out with their energy problems, and possibly endanger them dearly.
12. Personally, drinking any type of pop diet or not, will have negative consequences. That’s why people should stick to juice, water, and milk. They’re great in protein and helping our systems get better and keep going.

8. Typing test- 76 words per minute with no mistakes. Score!
9. Swearing is bad? (http://www.cusscontrol.com/swearing.html) I like to think I have the vocabulary of a well-educated sailor.. So, no., Swearing is not bad. It’s just, adjective enhancers.
10. Distracted driving. Oh. That was bad. Really bad. That is why I keep my phone in my center console while driving- out of sight, out of mind. It can wait.
11. Coffeecoffeecoffee. If you know me, you know I cannot function without a can of Coke or a cup of coffee in the morning. I’m not a heavy energy drink drinker, unless I know it’s going to be a long day. Then I go to grab a low-cal Monster (I prefer the Pink Lemonaid one) or a sugar-free Redbull (And it has to be a 16 oz can.) Although, if I want to be bouncing off the walls, I should just take a Benadryl..
12. Diet pop is bad? I’ve always thought it tasted funny to me.. Ironically, I know it smells different than regular pop- I sometimes have to figure out which pop is regular & which is a diet.. So I smell it. Can’t exactly taste someone else’s drink, now can I? So maybe it’s this chemical that makes them smell/taste different.
13. US Citizenship test. I scored an 84%- 21 out of 25. Does that mean I have to be deported?

Swearing
I think that swearing is not one of the things that we need to say, or something that has to influence our generation. Swearing is just bad language that nobody wants to hear. So why say those bad words? Heres a list of things swearing can do to people.
It contributes to the decline of civility
It represents the dumbing down of America
It offends more people than you think
It makes others uncomfortable
It is disrespectful of others
It turns discussions into arguments
It can be a sign of hostility
It can lead to violence

Distractive driving
Distractive driving is now starting to be a huge problem in America and all over the world. Now that we have all of those fancy new phones, and tablets or whatever people are using, there are just a bigger line of distractions that could lead to an accident.

5 hour energy
Because there were 9 deaths in the last four years from a simple energy drink, and the FDA just allows it to be sold is a huge mistake. If there was even a abortion caused by this energy supliment, then I wouldn’t trust it enough to drink it just for a 5 hour boost. I would rather stay my life like it is and not be hospitalized from some energy drink.

Citizen test
When I took the citizen test, at first I thought it was easy, but then it turned into a history exam! I got the first 15 right in a row then I collapsed. Overall I got a 77%. Ok for the first time taking it.

I have done a test like this before at elementary school and middle school. My first time through I had about 44 words per minute and the second time I had 55 with 4 mistakes. I think the second time I was also more familiar with the paragraph I was typing so I was much faster. I like to accept the challenge and always try to get me wpm every time I do the test.
